Default CMP Serivice pistol rules.

Is Les Baer PII legal for CMP Service pistol ?
The rule book states that combat style hammer is not legal.

You are reading the wrong rule book. Combat style hammers are legal for the Service Pistol EIC match. Looking at a photo, the Les Baer PII is legal for the Service Pistol EIC match and Service Pistol team matches. It is not legal for the as-issued 1911 match shot at the Games events.

This is the link for the current Service Rifle/Pistol Rule Book, see page 39: http://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads...f?ver=04032018

If you mean the Service Pistol EIC match, yes.

There are three sets of rules out there for Bullseye (also known as Conventional or Precision Pistol); (1)the CMP Service Pistol rules, (2) the CMP Games rules and (3)the NRA rules for Precision Pistol.

CMP Service Pistol and NRA Precision Pistol allow extended safeties, beavertail grip safeties, different hammers, etc. Pretty much anything goes except Pachmayr or metal grip panels for the CMP matches.

The Games rule book deals mainly with the as-issued matches for the 1911 and for Military & Police pistols. The 1911 match is limited to pistols as they were issued to the military, so no extended safeties, etc. The Military & Police is more open to which pistol you can use, since it just needs to be something that would have been issued to a military unit or police department. For the M&P match, a 1911 would still be as-issued without any mods, but you could shoot a Glock or Sig with mods, if they were factory issued.

Another match in the Games rule book, is the as-issued M9 match. You do not need to worry about what to shoot in that one, since the CMP provides the pistols and ammo.

There's also a Glock only match in the Games rule book.

This is the link for the current Games rule book. Pistol rules start around page 60: http://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads...f?ver=07112018

Hope all this helps.

Thank You very much . So to round this up , a Les Baer Premiere II with 185 SWC ammo or a customized M9 with 115 JHP ammo can be used in CMP Service Pistol matches? ( as long as the trigger is at least 4LB. )

4.4.2 Pistol Ammunition
a) Service Pistol. Service Pistol competitors may use any safe ammunition that is loaded with metal-jacketed or metal-plated bullets. Non-jacketed, wad-cutter or lead bullets may not be used.

Now I'm really confused. http://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads...f?ver=04032018

Nevermind, I just read the title "Table 4 - "Other" Approved Service Pistols

Best to forget the whole "service" thing as any guide. It's whatever they want it to mean now.
