Default South Store Report 11/08/2018

There were six customers at opening and a few more shortly after opening. Racks were full, 66 rifles.

Armors today are Tim and two armors in training, Danial and Kevin.

NOTE: I noticed this morning while checking the blue rifle hang tags that most of the dates on the tags were less than 30 days ago. This causes me to believe that there isnít a large surplus of rifles ready for sale. The 1911 program drew a lot of experienced personnel to support that program and now Iím seeing lots of new armors around the CMP. Hopefully they will stay ahead of demand...

CMP Specials, .308, 16/ 2 WRA/ 4 IHC/ 10 SA

SA SG 5/ FG 17. Most with USGI stocks in good condition, but the hackberry has shown up with 6 stocks being hackberry ☹️. Several cartouches, SA SHM, GAW, EMcF and DAS. Several rifles were WWII with WWII barrels.

HRA SG 1.

IHC FG 17, all hackberry stocks.

WRA zero

M1D SA SG 1/ RG 3.

M1 Drill 3 in rough condition.

1903a3 Remington DRILL, 1, with SA stock, good condition. 150.00

Bayonets available by asking store staff.

Full box En Blocs.

Sling box full, but policy the same, ONE sling with each rifle purchase.

Good luck on your searches.

Default Thursday closing report

There were 56 of the possible 66 rifles present at closing.

No restock at closing..

SA SG/FG were hit hard, other rifles remain about the same.

Good luck on your searches.

Tom, great report as always and great to see you this morning. After we parted, I went out to the TMP. I'm not going to attempt to give the detail that Tom does (I think I have an attention deficit issue going on), but I will say that there were very few empty spots in the racks. There is one more empty spot, however, as I picked up a six digit SA SG that the serial number places it in the Nov-Dec 41 timeframe. Everything else in it was Post war SA and it was wearing new CMP wood. It was, believe it or not, pretty much what I was trying to find as I needed several postwar SA parts to complete a build of a postwar SA receiver I have. (That Advanced Maintenance Course was worth every penny, but now I have found new excuses to buy rifles I might have previously passed up). The metal was uniform and in very good condition. Based on the hang tag, pretty sure it is a Philippine return.

There is a pretty good selection at the TMP if you are looking for IHCs in any of the three grades (RG,FG or SG). Saw a few WRAs, but not as many as a month ago. There were a number of SA and HRA FGs and SGs. Wood varies from USGI, CMP to Hackberry. I didn't see any GI wood with nice cartouches, but did see a couple of stocks on SA SGs that looked like they would clean up nicely.

Only saw one Special Grade and it was a SA .308. There was one SA 6 million SG sporting CMP wood. Very nice looking as it looked to be completely reparked, but if memory serves me correct I think it had a WRA bolt? See, there's that attention deficit kicking in again.

Lastly, there are no slings available at the TMP, however, if you buy a rifle you can go to the South Store and pick one out. The Creedmoor .30-06 deal applies as well regardless of which store you get your M1.

The staff at both stores were awesome as usual and I had a very enjoyable time helping a couple of customers out with their first M1 purchases.
