Looked at the rifle. Read the description. Haven't a clue as to what makes this 17 so special. For the money, there are plenty of equal or better actually original rifles available that upon purchase would leave enough money left over to buy cases of ammo. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

Default M1917 on auction

Anybody know whatís so special about the Eddystone M1917 on auction that would push it near 4K? Looks nice, but nothing stands out to me other than the Johnson replacement barrel. Is it the fact that itís undated?

Thanks,
Mike.

JA barrels were undated. $3900.00 for a decent, clean Eddystone. Go figure, I can't recall seeing a clean Eddystone going for anything near that. Auctions are odd events.

Didnít know that. So that just makes it a re-barreled M1917 for $3,900? Pics donít even show if itís got and Eddystone stock...

Nothing special even if it was and is still in presentation condition, which it can't be without original barrel. The stock looks like an Eddystone cut but hard to tell with bolt handle down or pic of stock tip. It could just as easily be a Remington.
Lots of $'s chasing these things, makes me jealous....

I picked up a clean Eddystone, 485,XXX range w/ a 4-18 barrel, last November for around $800.

Not sure why this one is commanding such a premium.
