Very nice rifle. Clean up the wood, clean and lube it and then shoot it. I love shooting my M1 and recently introduced my New Zealand born SIL to Garands. He LOVES it.

Range Report

100 yards
Greek HXP ammo

Finally got the rifle out to the range today. Very first shot was on the edge of the bulls-eye.

Once I got used to the correct sight picture I had to give the elevation a few clicks. Overall I'm very happy. This rifle is more accurate than me.

Great looking rifle. Save the brass from your spent cartridges. Before you know it you will probably get interested in reloading. Enjoy and make room for another one.

I was at the North Store on friday and they had a few WWII serial numbers in the Field grades, the M1D's and the Specials. There were at least two 6 diget ones in the M1D's. Also one rack of Winchester rack grades. I picked up one of those in decent shape with a muzzle of 2 on my gauge. I think the only Winchester part on it was the receiver, which is to be expected, but I'll know more when I get it torn down.
