Default Let it Snow

Anyone at or near the North Store care to hazzard guess what the roads might look like there tomorrow morning? Some friends and I have been planning a trip for some time now and it's snowing like crazy here in Chicago.

I know they're calling for 2-4" in southern Michigan possibly a little more.

I stopped around lunch time between meetings. Roads were clear. However they are expecting 4" - 6" of snow tonight - roads can get pretty icy along Route 2 due to the winds off the lake etc. Maybe approx 14 Service Grade Springfields (5.4 & 5.8M ser numbers) half in GI wood the other in replacement wood. Approx a full rack (front and back) of HRA Service Grades - some nice ones, one with LMR barrel. They must have re-headspaced some of the 1917 Enfields and approx 8 or 9 had their tags edited to "headspace." Full rack of HRA Field Grades - didn't get to look as I was pressed for time... Good luck and have a safe trip...

Thanks for the updates guys. normally I would simply re-schedule. But one of the guys is expecting his first child in two weeks, and this will be his last hurrah so to speak for some time.
Here in Chicago there's about 5 inches on the ground already.

Default check cmp weather.

Look up the zip code for Camp Perry or the North store and type it into a weather brouser. I use NOAH weather or Accu-weather.com. You can also search for the Highway patrol post for Port Clenton, Sandusky etc.
Being from the Windy City you already know how much more snow can show up due to "Lake Effect snow" and serious drifting that can get ahead of the snow ploughs real quick! You might also search for motels and reserve a room or two just in case it does get bad? You can always cancel as soon as you know you are going to head back West.
Carry your foul weather gear and be prepaired to ride it out if you have too. This is a huge storm and it may get MEAN anywhere along your route.
Good Luck and buy a goodn or two.

Be careful up there. Man, I'd hate to get snowed in and have to spend the night or a weekend in the store!

Just got back from being out.... I live in the Metro Detroit area..... we have about 2 inches maybe.... but the roads are a little slippery. Not horrible, but slippery. Camp Perry isn't quit in the snow belt, but it can get pretty along route 2. I am guessing you will be on the Turnpike most of the way, and it should be pretty good.

Good luck, be careful out there!
