Thanks John

IT sports a SA 12-23 barrel; scope mounts/blocks on receiver and barrel;
sporter C stock w/checking on the grip/forearm; sporter butt plate;
lyman rear peep/adjustable sight

Your description is consistent with the list the rifle shows up on. The rifle is indeed a Sporter sold through the DCM.

John

Would the scope mounts been original to the rifle/tell from the SN list?

Thanks

The serial number list identifies the rifle only as a Sporter and who it was sold to. Sporters were not normally sold with scope mounts.

The checking on the grip/forearm more than likely would not be original from Springfield. However, I have seen many checked after receipt by private owners.
