Received on a recent field grade purchase from the CMP. There are holes drilled in the butt for cleaning accessories. Fits quite snugly (def better that the greek beech). Foreign military type? Hackberry?

Not hackleberry, Most likely foreign military. hackle had 1 hole.

Could it be from a Turk? Some of them were sort of yellowish looking.

Don't rub that stock like that anymore. Just check back later to see if the rear sight goes back down. Something could break it off if handled incorrectly.

With that yellowish color and lack of distinct grain pattern, the stock looks like birch.
