Default ID Type 2 slide

I'll get some pictures of this tomorrow or Saturday but I just got an early type 2 slide and I'll be darned if I can see a mfg mark in it. I was told it came off a NPM carbine and I see a light partial that might be a partial 8 like it might be a NPM but that is speculation on my part or it could be a machining/ casting flaw that I am trying to put meaning into. Looking over Riesch's book 6th edition , pg 63 it shows that Irwin-Pedersen may have made some Type 2 slides without markings. Anybody else know of a mfg that may not have marked their type 2 slides?

Finish is blued, no machine marks visible inside the slide.

I know pictures will help ( maybe) but any hints in the meantime on how to ID the mfg?

Most slides have some, to very rough, milling marks inside the box where most were manufacturer codes were stamped. I have seen some slides with smooth finishing inside the box but I no longer remember which manufacturer may have produced that slide. Having an Inland type 2 slide would be more common but others are possible.

Didn't Underwood make a lot of type 2 slides as well. My early (3-43 Underwood barrel) 3.22 million S'G' has a type 2 IP slide. Thought there were also a few Quality Hardware, NPM, and Rock-Ola type 2 slides as well.

Here are pictures. I would like to think it is an IP slide but there just doesn't seem to show any proof that it might be. I may put it on my mixmaster IP anyway since it would be about the right time frame.

Well I have asked for a usb microscope for the B-day. It may or may not help with this mystery but it will be a fun toy.

I got a suggestion PM'd to me about shining a light from the open end over any markings and I didn't really see anything different than before.

The only thing I know for sure is it's to early for a Standard Products.

Default Not IP

It is not a IP. I would guess it may be N8 as their markings were light anyway.
