Thanks guys. I feel very fortunate to have been selected let alone to receive basically exactly what I was dreaming of when I filled out the paperwork!

Anyway, I took a minute to do a basic field strip of the pistol tonight and found out my Colt slide is probably from 1943 based on the serial number I found stamped under the firing pin stop. "1128896"

Anyone have an idea on the A281 stamp? Anniston Rebuild would make sense but I was under the impression they marked 1911's ANAD around the finger cut. Maybe an Albany rebuild since there seem to be a few Barstow Marine rebuilds coming out lately?
