Default National Match Rework

I just came across a Colt M1911A1 advertised at a LGS...the serial number indicates a 1945 manufactured date. It is described as a "National Match Rework". I'm not really sure what that means and what kind of value that would add. Asking price is around $2,000. Assuming it's in good condition, does that seem like a fair price? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it's really a NM rebuild, the price is probably fair - maybe even low - but that's a big IF. Would need lots of good pictures to try to determine if it was a NM or ordinary mixmaster.

Yep. There are several key features to verify before determining if it's in fact a legit arsenal built National Match or simply one of many match-style pistols built privately.
