Default New Arrival

Previous poster was correct that itís a transitional frame. The slide as expected is not a match. Itís a Colt, but it has no markings on the right side. Does that mean itís commercial? Regardless sheís a pretty girl. Iíll send more detailed pics in a bit.

It looks like the markings were worn away during sand blasting before refinishing. Good chance that pistol has been refinished a couple of times.

Iíll take some better pics in a bit, but the LHS markings are actually mostly visible, although the horse is a bit worn down. I looked under good lighting and canít see anything on the RHS.

Default 700-711 Serial

Noticed your serial # and the pistol I received are only 20 or so #s a part from each other.

Some pics in better lighting. No markings I can see on the Right side or the rear of the slide.

Slide is nothing special, just a worn and reparked WWII slide.

Makes sense. I’m just wondering how one goes about dating the slide.

That slide is last series colt slide. Started at about serial 285,000 so it could be any number of years. Nothing should be on the right side. I got one just like it on my Rem/colt. The pony is there but faint due to the heavy park job...

I’m glad to hear it’s not a commercial slide. She’s a Colt / Colt with an interesting frame. And she’s mine. Can’t complain.
