Default New to me 1911

I've had my eye on acquiring a USGI 1911 for years now but today I can finally check that off my list. They've always seemed scarce in my area and decent examples at a fair price are even scarcer. This pistol the CMP sent me made all the waiting well worthwhile though!

I have not had time to break it down. Although the main components I can identify with a novice eye and some basic googling indicate the following:

WWII Era Colt Slide
1.75 million 1944 Remington Rand Frame
77 series Post war barrel
Marked A281 just forward on the frame in front of the serial number

Great 1911A:1 with history, free overnight shipping and a great case. Christmas is coming early.

Larger than life on my Lenovo 23" AIO.
But no how you look at it, it is a very nice pistol. FJA is for Lt Col Frank J Atwood and appears to be a fairly sharp inspector's mark.
