I wouldn't get them all de-chromed at once. The Krag I had de-chromed didn't turn out so hot. Would end up being a pain in the neck to blue, park, or rechrome. Maybe yours will end up different. It looks good as is - I'd leave well enough alone. Your choice, tho'.

I would not change this rifle as I have grown fond of it. The other parts however I would like to have de-chromed IF a reliable company could be found locally.

I and my company parkerized for many years both in our local shop and the Machine Gun Shoot at Knob Creek. We have removed chrome by bead blasting and it’s not the way to go. They have chemical baths to remove chrome. If it has a chrome lined barrel and you want to keep it be very specific to the vendor. After that is done, send it to one of many great parkerizing companies. Make sure you tell them to keep the chamber in the white.
You will turn it from a monster to a wildcat.
Good luck.

I like it.
Tell me though, how do you get a cheek weld for the height of the rear sight?

Thanks

John
