Default Saving Private Ryan?

I’m not sure if this is the right forum or not to pose the question, but I am curious. Is anybody else going to see the movie “Saving Private Ryan” on the big screen during it’s release to selected theaters by Fathom Events?
I saw it on the big screen during it’s initial run, and I will see it again in the same movie theatre complex on June 2nd.
Awesome movie!

At the time of its original release I was in the VA Army National Guard -- the 29th Infantry Division. At the end of our 2-week summer training, the Captain paid for the entire Infantry Company to see the movie. That was a great experience.
Might just have to see it again.

I remember when that Movie came out in the late 90's. My Dad and I was at a WWII Vet's Yard Sale one Sat Morning. He asked us if we had went and saw the movie and we told him yes we did.He preceded to tell us he was there on the D-Day Invasion and that movie was the most realistic movie he ever saw of D-Day. He said there was only one thing missing, the smell of the Flesh , Blood and Guts that Day!!!!

+1, OP.

Would not pass up the opportunity to see it again on the big screen.

For me, the start of the movie and the end were very moving. The "middle" was another story and (for me, of course) left something to be desired. I didn't care for it. The low point was a group of supposed Rangers behind enemy territory screaming at each other.

I thought, judging from "end to end" Band of Brothers was better. JMHO, of course.

Took my then girlfriend to it on our first date when it was released. Didn't think I could go wrong with a Tom Hanks movie.

Yeah, I also had a hard time stomaching the insubordination. Didn't seem the least bit credible.
