My tree service guys just left after trimming bushes and trees along my driveway and around the house. I just found out that those pesky trees are "Hackberrys " They grow like weeds.

how do you best remove the painted stain finish? I'd like to take crack/hack at one..

I used serious paint stripper. But some have used acetone and it works pretty well from what I recall. Acetone may cost more. You can remove it with your fingernail so maybe there are less expensive solutions.

Easy task. Citrustrip takes it off in less than 5 seconds. And it's pretty safe if you use gloves.
