Well this is just great; besides waiting a number, now I have to hope for a Marine rebuild also! Thanks a lot “Norton”(from another E-4)

I’m with you Marine, receiving one like that would be icing on the 1911 cake. (From another Corporal of Marines)

I would guess Benecia. Benicia has always had a huge connection with the Marines. In pre WW1 timeframe they stored Marine weapons. In between the war they rebuilt some Marine weapons. So maybe something similar here.

But I see Benecia mentioned a lot in the Marine docs. The Marines even bought weapons from Benecia.

I'll trade my OB 79 Marine rebuild for a Union Switch & Signal

I just saw another one that had LEAD and the OB-7X rebuild mark.

I think like tbone69 just stated, there are going to be a lot coming out.

With all these Army rebuild mark and then Marine, I'm wondering if they were acquired from the Army around the Vietnam time period and then rebuild by the Marines after.

And then a thought about A xx xx? Could that be Albany or Augusta? My memory is fuzzy after way too many years!

okay and not trying to start anything. Besides Marines, why the giant interest in it being a Marine rebuild?

I am retired army, so I can understand - but other, non-vets (no offense), what is it about a marine rebuild?

I think because the other branches pistols cant be verified for lack of markings. Other than that...nothing really.
