** COMMENT REMOVED BY STAFF **

Some good-natured interservice rivalry is acceptable...this goes well beyond that (and should've been obvious), and will not be tolerated.
Do NOT post in this thread again.

I believe that Augusta stamped them with an "AA". Augusta? Anniston? Albany? Benecia? Barstow? They should have had the good sense to not have so many start with the same letter.

Augusta Arsenal was shut down well before the dates on these pistols, so that is not an option.

Has anyone FOIA'ed Crane Indiana for reported info on weapons? We had to report all weapons twice per year to Crane...was the info destroyed? It would be by unit.

Saw an interesting 1911A1, had a faint O 68 under OB 83, my guess it went through 2 USMC rebuilds. Not sure how the Army got it back.

I know that Garands and other rifles are 'disposed' / retired by the Army, so assume its the same with pistols. Once they get turned in for disposal or retirement, I assume they get sent to the army.

Anyone know for sure?

The Ithaca I received today is a OB-84 rebuild. Appears to be the only rebuild mark on it https://imgur.com/a/3kC5qcM
