Saw a couple discussion posts from individuals that the CMP had 6,000 1911’s which is in conflict with the numerous statements that 8,000 had been allocated. Did the CMP receive all 8,000?

Where did you see posts saying 6000, and who said it? It might have been speculation that only 6000 would be sellable.
Can't believe everything that you read. |

The 6k number is likely what people refer to as the estimated number after the non-sellable and auction pieces are removed from the general population.

Zvenoman and Steelap in the Alternative Purchase thread. On rereading their comments it could be interpreted that that they we’re discussing shipment numbers in 2019. I was hoping The CMP would respond that all 8,000 were delivered. Since the Sec. of the Army made an arbitrary decision to reduce the authorization from 10 to 8 thousand I was concerned it had been reduced further.

Late last year....Admin posted that although 8000 were received, only about 6000 were 'good' enough to be sold. SO.....6000 get shipped and the rest are parts.
