That is what I thought would happen... 03s are a "hot" item and will be difficult to keep in the rack for any length of time. I guess the only way to get an 03 is at a gun show 9 and pay the premium cost.

Just to clarify, your looking for an A3?

Well I saved some gas and tolls and did not make the trip. Would have got there and shelves empty. I have been waiting for a CMP A3 at North Store for some time, but can not make it to the Store at the right day. After word gets out that some are in stock, planning the trip becomes to late.

Your best bet would be to go during the National Matches, especially at the start of the CMP Games matches with the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and Vintage Sniper Matches. That seems to be the times when the North Stare has the best selection, but you have to get there early and near the front of the line at opening time.

Thank you, Dave. I will try to plan that next year unless an 03A3 shows up on For Sale Forum by a fellow long time CMP member. Will keep looking.

Either a late 30s or WWII rebuild or an A3. Id like something that was correct for actual WWII use. As I understand it the A3s saw some use in the Italian campaign, correct?

They were also used on D-day and Market garden, through out Europe. Not as much as the Garand, but still used. A favorite for gernade launching and issue to support troops, artillery crews.
