So what you guys are saying is that even if I had made the five hour drive there, it might be impossible to get a decent gun because of Black Friday mentality?

With such a limited supply, I'm a bit surprised they didn't limit 03A3's to one, at least per day, if not for the term of the Matches.

Default 1903A3's limit

there was a limit of one per day, it should have been a limit of one during the matches

It might be possible if you got there at 5:00 A.M.

+1.....If you really really wanted a 1903, and got there in line after 6am, then you really really didn't want a 1903.

I agree they should have had a limit of one per year on the 1903's

The corner grabbers were assisted greatly by the fact that the 03's were all put out together in the corner of the store each morning Perhaps they should have seeded them throughout the store, like they did with the carbines a few years back?

Yep. Just left the store. I asked them why they just didn't bring them out at random times of they day, so the shooters might actually have a chance to buy one. I received a blank stare for an answer.

I was there Friday at around 6:00 AM and was about 11th or 12th in line. Orderly line and good conversation with some guys from Illinois. Then the door opened. The line seemed to stay in numerical order until we got to the 03-A3 corner then at least two individuals took two rifles at a time and then passed one off to a friend on the other side of the M1-D rack. Also a young guy in front of me I think from Kentucky got cut off by folks way behind us inline. This was disgusting and I will partly blame CMP for not having a tag system like most deli counters have when we are only talking about 8 to 10 rifles. You should only be allowed to take one rifle to the desk at a time and able to buy one 03-A3 per year. I think I am finished going to the NS especially during the National Match's.

Amen to that I quit going to the North store because of the free-for-all at the opening of the door. I once seen a family of three grab two rifles each and spend about a half hour to decide what rifle the father wanted to buy. Then pass the rifles to other people that came in a half hour later.

I was in line for the 03s on Friday maybe 12 or 15th. Managed to have a rifle or two passed to me after they failed inspection by those there first. Had a chance to handle two and help chose one for a retired Marine that was next in line behind me. Fun to help others an a quest for their unicorn. Folks were much more disciplined this year than in previous years especially when the last carbine release a few years ago.
