Portland here. The Place to Shoot near Delta Park in the north Portland area for handgun (that, and I'm an RO out there so I'm a little biased) and either state forest land near Vernonia or The English Pit in Vancouver for rifles. I prefer the forest over the pit because generally there isn't anyone else to contend with. The only qualifier is that my daughter's partner accompany me.

I live in Tigard and do my shooting at the Chehalem Valley Sportsman's Club
            in Dundee.

Got SA & HR mixmaster Service Grades. Bought the SA in 2001 or so.
Didn't think I would shoot it much. About 5K rounds later, the groups are
starting to get bigger. Time to switch to my H&R. Love the Garand!

                Southern coast

We now have the Tioga Sports Complex with a 100 yd range and longer ranges are in the works. $100 per year is a great price.

The Apprentice was interested in Tri-County Gun Club. It is a 230 acre facility just outside of Sherwood, Oregon, which is southwest of Portland. As far as I know, there are over 5,000 members. The club has great facilities. I primarily shoot High Power and the Vintage matches. The Vintage rifle match is shot at 200 yards on the old 5V target. This is now a 40 shot match. Vintage firearms include any firearms built or designed prior to 1961. There is also a vintage pistol match of 48 rounds that is shot at 5 to 25 yards on one of the action ranges. The Vintage matches are once a month and start in March and go through October. The High Power Matches are across the course in the Spring and Fall and then 600 yards prone in the Winter. None in summer. Great place to shoot.

Tri-County Gun Club is a membership club that you have to join to use the facilities. They usually have a waiting list to join.

Also, you should join the Northwest Firearms Forum. It is free. A lot of good information and it is local to the Pacific Northwest.
