Hey, I want to go too after reading Tom's reports but the 13 hour drive kills that.

Our northern forum buddies probably shake their heads when two Floridians start comparing notes about "cold spells".

Anniston got six inches one day when I was at Ft McClellan for basic training. My company was in bivouac during the storm. Great memories of our company marching through the mountains in the dark on ice covered roads to reach the ranges. The snow started falling just after the sunrise. We were firing from the prone position that morning. It took over an hour to complete the string of fire. When we stood up our outlines were left on the firing line in the snow and the backs of our field jackets were white with snow.

Ah the good old days!

It shouldn't stay on the ground long as the soil temps should be fairly high still.

I've been at Ft Eustis when during the day we had below freezing temps with ice, 60s with ice melting, rain, hail and snow all in a 6 hour period and in that order.

Hey, when it gets down to near freezing down here and you still have 90% humidity, it is darn cold. Now when it snows here, it makes national news.
