Default Mauser Identification

If this is the wrong forum, my apologies and ADMIN please move

Hello, I recently acquired a Mauser through an estate sale. Here’s what I know:

Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf A.N
Patrone .22 Long Rifle
Serial#: 22012 (stamped on both barrel and receiver)

“459” stamped behind s.n. on barrel followed by two cartouche. One is a “U” with a crown followed by the letter “B” also with a crown.

“012” stamped on bottom of trigger group/guard.

Mauser logo stamped on right side of Buttstock with a knurled grip and scalloped fore grip.

25” barrel length, 29 3/4” barrel-receiver length. The Safety is a slide mechanism.

The rifle has a fixed front sight and a rear sight with elevation adjustment from 30 to 200 yards.

I’m curious about date of manufacture, a little history, and approximate value.

I don’t have means to host a picture to share, I’d be happy to send or email them to someone who could for me?

Michael Conn

Mauser made different models, some of which are difficult to tell apart because the factory would make just about anything the customer wanted. The model, BUG proofs, and serial number should get you close to manufacture date. Send me some good pics. If you can take close-ups of the markings it would help. One word of caution, don't clean with anything but a soft cloth and light oil. Send pics to pdnadel@verizon.net
