Default Comparison of two late M1D cheek pads

On the left in the pic is an original USGI M1D cheek pad that I bought last spring from a respected member of this forum; it's MRT-dated May 1976. Note the spelling out of the month, the four-digit year, and the font size. The two screws in this package are loose and rattling around.

On the right is the USGI M1D cheek pad that I just received from the CMP in the e-store order I placed during Manic Monday. It's MRT-dated 10-75; Note the numerical abbreviation of the month, the two-digit year, and the smaller font size. The two screws in this package are in the small yellow envelope at the bottom of the plastic bag.

I thought these differences were interesting, and wanted to pass on the info to you folks
