lol It was my grandfathers, he probably bought it in the 40's or 50's. He passed away in 76 and it went to my father. My father passed away in 04 and not it's with me.

I don't have a picture with all of the rifles together, but here's 4 of them (with my 1911):

A 1903 and M14 would fit very nicely, as would a Carbine! lol

Agree, it'll be a nice collection of American history.
This top 10 list of combat rifles from the History Channel shows a good comparison of attributes through the years.

I don't like that the AK-47 is rated #1 but they factor in service length and innovation which is true for the AK's time. I have a Romanian AK and I've had no failure to fires after hundreds of cheapo Tul-Ammo. However, it does have a rattly trigger that causes rounds to double-burst at times.

The trapdoor finishes out my Springfield family:

I won't go any earlier than the trapdoor however lever-action Winchesters are tempting.
I gotta stop....

Kevin,

I like your AR's. That is the one era of rifle I am missing. I think I see a new doorway opening.....

Thanks, the A1 was the first one I put together. I bought a USGI Surplus Parts kit from Sportsmansguide, then did an 80% lower to finish it out.

I duracoated the lower to try to match it to the upper. It's not a perfect match, but I'm satisfied with it.

I carried an A1 when I was in the Army, so that one is a sentimental favorite for me.
