Default Punch mark?

What does the punch mark mean inside the flaming bomb on the
barrel of my 1903A3? Thanks for any info....

I would have to get my camera out and take one.....
It's just a mark that looks like it was done with a
center punch. I've seen it before on different guns,
but never knew what it was for.

I'm guessing it's a proof mark.

I believe it indicates test firing after assembly to the receiver. Spare barrel installed 'in the field' do not get this mark.
