Default Fulton Armory M5A1 bayonets

Hey all,

Happy Friday! I was curious: has anyone bought one of the M5A1 bayonets listed for sale by Fulton Armory? They are described as "original USGI, excellent condition." I think Fulton is a great company, and I am inclined to trust the description, but I wanted to see if anyone had any direct experience with them. I would definitely prefer a US-made one versus one from Korea, for example.

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like they have them, as well as a new-production one. I wrote to them to see who is making the new production. We'll see what they say.

Try Dupage as they have 3 for $ sometimes.

I looked on Dupage and found a product listing for one that is "new condition" but 1950s USGI. It is marked Imperial, but I can't see defense acceptance stamps on it, which usually means it was commercial production. I contacted Dupage for clarification.

Fulton wrote back to me (in a somewhat brusque tone) and said their M5A1s are all US manufacture and USGI. I asked for a list of potential manufacturers and was just told they have "various" manufacturers without specifying which ones... Not quite as helpful as I would have liked.

Dupage got back to me. They said their bayonets are Millpar and so it's normal for them to not have the DAS eagle, which would be true if they were late '60s-'70s production. When I pointed out that the bayonet they picture on their website product page is an Imperial and they claim it is 1950s production and thus should have a DAS eagle, they didn't reply.

So far, I'm pretty disappointed with both Fulton and Dupage.
