Default New discussion on carbine sales

Today was not what I expected. CMP posted a "Sold Out" after several hours.
Who knows how many M1s they had for sale. I hope they will be some on backorder. What are you thoughts on how this went. I bet they are going to be busy for weeks getting all those orders shipped out.

The sell out didn't really surprise me. Announcing the sale on a Thursday and accepting orders on a Monday gave people plenty of time to get orders in by different methods whether it be snail mail, USPS 2 Day or Overnight and the Fedex/UPS options. Also its been years since Carbines have been on sale outside of the CMP auctions.

The announcement post here got up to 14k views amazingly fast so I knew orders would flood in. Went about as expected.

Figure they were weeks out on orders so this should be the same or longer due to volume and the constant calls/emails they will be getting.

I'm pretty certain they didn't count each piece of mail received and counted up to the number they had and marked it sold out....too much work. They knew what they had....they saw the rough number of orders and called it quits.

This is not their first rodeo!! Went just as expected...they are ready to process and ship. In a few weeks this release will just be a memory.

Are we still guessing the 1300 number of inventory that was thrown around?

Both stores probably want have 150 for sale on Thursday morning. Those going to the store will need to be there early Thursday morning if not earlier.

If they hadn't listed the carbines as sold out after the first day I would have been surprised. Pretty much as expected. Good luck to all of those who ordered and I have my own fingers crossed.
