Well, I'm still hopeful that I'll bag a carbine.

This past weekend I considered using the money (not yet spent on a carbine, since no CC hit, no DBU, etc) on a different desire: a nice grizzly hide. The annual Alaskan Fish and Game auction of hides and horns confiscated by F&G for various reasons. Not as many to bid on this year, but a few huge hides. This one went for over two grand. My money remains waiting on a carbine.

There were other makers too like Union switch and signal, savage arms, singer sewing machine (extremely rare), and Remington UMC in ww1 that made 1911's (not a1's).

I'll probably just buy a bunch of ammo and some steel targets I have been wanting. I have several completed projects that I have to get dialed in. Here's an M1A Scout Squad that I recently put in a Fajen stock that I bought off a forum member....I need to play with it more:

Good looking Scout. It was the version I originally preferred but my local military base BX store had a SOCOM-16 version on sale because someone backed-out of their order and I could not pass it up. I also just ordered a vintage M14 stock fairly cheap which although a bit dinged up I think it'll clean-up and the M1A will fit in it well.
