Yep, the stain is not a finish. You need to apply a BLO or Tung Oil finish after the stain. Thanks for your business.

I finished my new Dupage stock with the USSR stain and I love it!! That little bottle really packs a punch. Unfortunately I spilled it.....fortunately it was on my metal work bench so I was able to salvage most of it. I love the color it turned out and still have some left in the bottle for any touch ups. I followed up with a few coats of BLO and am looking to use some Toms 1/3 wax.

Does anyone have any experience with the Toms wax? Does it change the color or stay tacky etc?

Matt, Glad to hear it worked well for you. I have used Tom's 1/3 wax and like it a lot. Just be sure to apply it lightly, or it will be tacky. Don

Here it is guys, I used one powerful little bottle of USSR and one coat of Toms 1/3 and here are the results. I will do another coat of Toms as well soon.

yeah, I thought it was going to be more of a reddish brown stain, this stuff is more of a dark walnut color.

The degree of "red" in the result will vary from one stock to the next, due to different types of wood and any residual finish on the stock.
