Seeing how many Bavarian returns CMP has sold, both as complete rifles, BR's, and auction, how about a dedicated sticky? It can be a user populated companion to Jim Mock's http://www.bavarianm1carbines.com site.

Is that an original Bavarian sling? If so, where could I get one? I've got a Bavarian rural police National Postal Meter.

OK, I'll bite.
Here is my six-digit Inland Bavarian Rural Police mix-master with flip sight, T-1 band and a nice German highwood Beech stock: http://s564.photobucket.com/albums/s...view=slideshow |

Sure glad I DIDN'T go with my first thought of "Don't know if I can swing the $775 for an early features Bavarian". My better sense prevailed, and I mailed off order for 1 SG Bavaria Forestry Police w/flip sight M1 Carbine. I knew this was a rare opportunity the CMP was giving us, listing these beauties for general sales/mail-order. Alot of em were close to, if not in original configuration. Didn't send any sticky with the order, but "hoped" for either a WRA or IBM. The CMP Gods were listening! Received, was an almost all original/correct 3.8 mil. IBM. As I was still new to carbines, I'm reading all the markings on all the parts, F OB, EPB, KVB, BE B, B RB, AOB....and I'm thinking, "Best $775 I ever spent!"
![]() It's one of my favorite rifles in my collection. And when I think what these little Bavarians did, helping WIN a war, then loaned to our adversary to help them rebuild/reorganize. I LOVE the history behind these "Little Bavarians" http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/IMG_0412.jpg |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Both are BFP Underwoods. Both SS picks, bottom one started as a BR. Top was purchased as a SG near very end of inventory. My favorite carbine. Stock is nice with early features mixed in. Missed the boat on the flippers. Oh well....at least I can look at yours ![]() Last edited by hammonje; 03-28-2012 at 01:56 PM. |
