Well, completely against what I just said, I did look in warbaby. They do show 8000 hammers from underwood in early 44.

Think of the times, everything was hand written or typed, or just plain word of mouth. Do you think they saved every piece of paper, thinking......"hey, we should save this in case someone wants to write a book!" We don't have ALL the info, and unfortunately, we never will.

Yes, I question this statement:

"It is documented by both a document by his GF's commanding officer"

I do not think USGI guns were "documented" to be returned.

I guess we all would like to see the document.

Well... I finally made it to the forum... took a long time for the webmaster to approve my request to join...

Anyway.. It is my M1 carbine that Jetfuel took apart and documented for you all! I am happy to share it and answer any and all questions you might have

I thought i had a pic of it posted. If not, i will.

It may be a couple weeks before Propjetprop and I can get back together again and do a full catalogue of parts and configuration. Stay tuned.

The marking is BR and appears to have a long face, but we need a photo of the other side, the portion that is actually pushed by the finger please. Thanks for your help!
