Arrived approx. 12 noon – had to register for the matches first – very little traffic in the registration room at that time. One (1) person was in the North Store when I got there. Not a lot of customers at the time. Most of the following report will sound similar to those recently posted by other forum members:
BLUF - NO SG / FG / RG M1 Garands (see exceptions below) or bolt rifles. One (1) rack ($380) of M1 Garand drill rifles (gnarly?). One long rack of snipers (M1C SG / FG and M1D WRA RG). One mostly full rack of IHC Gap Letter (SG) ($2000 each). Most with CMP wood; a few with USGI. Mix of LMR and SA barrels, and a few with Marlin barrels. Two (2) CMP Special M1 Garands ($1050 each). Other customers bought them while I was there. Three (3) Rack Grade Specials (@ $650 each) – these were just brought to the selling floor when I got there (at noon). A not-quite-full rack of SG SA 6 mils – one had a barrel with a ME/TE of 0+ / 0+! ($1220 each) One not-quite-full rack of Daisy 853 air rifles ($110). Also M7 bayonets and Creedmoor ammo (various calibers – did not inquire further); NO M2 ball or any .30 caliber. Bob (the armorer) is still there and was his usual friendly self. Almost forgot – what did I and my buddy get? My buddy picked up one of the three Rack Grade Specials – he is convinced he got a deal after examining it closely. Frankly, it looks like a CMP (service grade) Special. Very little pitting, and none visible above the wood line. Definitely a “best buy” if you can get one. For myself, I picked up one of the IHC Gap Letters – USGI wood (no cartouches, but possibly an Augusta Arsenal rebuild) and an LMR barrel (1 / 2+). SA bolt, op rod and trigger group, but it had IHC-marked windage and elevation knobs. My buddy opened the buttplate and out came a cleaning kit (oiler / grease pod / bore brush). What a nice find! As I posted previously regarding a similar NS report about two (2) years ago, “somehow, the name of the actor Slim Pickens comes to mind...” Good luck to you all. BTW my last purchase at the NS a few months ago I picked up a 43 SA. It had a full cleaning kit in the buttplate also. Chas |

I hope they do! I'm not shooting until Saturday but plan to arrive early enough on Friday to check out the store.

Doesn’t do you any good if you’re at Viale each day while the store is open.
