Default New member from SE Michigan

Hello all,

I am a new member from SE Michigan and recently have made 2 trips to the North Store and gotten myself a case of Garanditis. It seems to be catchy. My shooting partner (my daughter) has said the M1 is her new favorite rifle.

Cannot disagree.

I have purchased 2, a IHC Service and a SA that is one of those new specials with the Criterion barrels.

I have been learning quite a bit on these forums and want to say thanks for all the information you have already shared.

Regards,

Irishgreek

Go away, save yourself! There are too many Garand addicts here already! Just kidding. Welcome to your new obsession, from Florida. This is the place to help feed it .

Thanks! Yea, tearing them apart and finding the 'right' parts have become a pretty big interest for me. Just got a Canfield book on the Garand and Carbine. A lot of info in there.

Welcome to the Forum. Lots of great information here for us Garand addicts. Just a note about tearing down your Garand and finding the "right " parts, I have received several rifles from the CMP that were almost correct. One store visit I was looking at two very nice service grade rifles trying to decide which one to buy. The man behind the counter said, " Why not buy both and check the trigger groups." I did and ended up with a correct SA and HRA by switching the trigger groups. Those were the good days and I've only been addicted for 6 years.

MajDave, the guys at the NS were great to me. I am now seriously damaged as far as my garanditis is really taking off.

Thanks Wrecks for the welcome!
