Default #406000 SA w/12-51 HRA barrel.....???

I have a couple HRA barrels for sale here, I was asked about a date I didnt offer, then I remembered this gun.....not the date asked for but I dont remember seeing this before.

This gun is mostly WW 2 parts, is on a replacement reddish stock w/rack number, no firing proof and has 12-51 HRA barrel w/good numbers & bright shiney bore. Could this be loosly classed as a Korean war rebuild or ???

I cant find an HRA rifle in my referrence books prior '52.

The H & R company manufactured many barrels in '51 and '52 for the military to use as replacement barrels before they started manufacturing actual rifles. The '51's are seen a little less frequently. Towards the end of garand production they started using earlier rejects as they were running out of barrels so you will see early fifties barrels on late rifles that are correct and original to the rifle.
