Default A salute from Virginia

Code name Mitchell

I am very profound to be able to learn and make friends on this forum.
After all my years in the Military and still serving as civil service, I said it is time for me to own my M1 Garand. My first order is in place.
it will be perfect next to my Fathers WWII footlocker and partial uniform.

I feel very very excited, since I am not sure what is coming.

Please forgive me on this one.

mruiz1414,
Welcome from a fellow Virginian. Chester......you must be familiar with Fort Lee! There are fellow CMP Forum members in your area with Garanditis. Once your new rifle arrives you will become the latest case in the Chester area.

I teach Soldiers at Fort Lee. I only know of one Gentelman with a Garand and he show me CMP. I am trying to go to the next Gun show at RIC, maybe we can meet. I am overdue, was to involve in 1911.

I have my dads footlocker that the other half just loves and put on display in the living room. She gets a kick out of the pin up girls attached to the inside lid I received my first M1 three months ago and am very happy with what was sent.

Welcome

Welcome to the forum Mitchell and seeing as you've submitted your first order, welcome to the Garanditis club. I'm in the same boat as you...1911s and Garands get my blood moving.
Thanks for your prior military service and great to see you honoring your father's own service and legacy. If you are up to sharing, no doubt many here (myself included) would appreciate photos of your display.

In case you haven't seen it, here is a thread tracking current orders where you can track other Garand orders to gauge where you are at in the process (go to last pages for most current info)...

We share your excitement and look forward to seeing what you get!

Regards,
Rob
