And you guys out on the west coast are **********ing about ammo! I feel your pain!
It actually is quite a bit worse in California than Maryland, which is saying a lot. In MD the handgun roster includes pretty much every pistol anyone has ever asked for (and pre-1985 pistols are exempt), AR-15s are same day cash-and-carry so long as they don’t have a pencil barrel, as are some AK-74s (but not AK-47s); SBRs, silencers, and MGs are legal, and normal magazines are fine so long as you buy them out of state. Californians have none of those things.

This is just nuts. You expect us to believe that "they" dedicate enough recources to EVERY "FREE STATE" GUN SHOW to detect and follow EVERY CITIZEN from out of state, and then follow them until they cross state lines? Just to bust them for a Misdemeanor?

Just to catch a couple people trying to bring regular capacity mags or some ammo home?

Do you have any idea the amount of resources this would take? Hell this would be difficult (and easily detected) at my little local rural gun show....but trying to track individual citizens from "ban states" in a crowd at a huge Reno gun show? Seriously?

Hell they would either need high resolution, real time video, or an officer standing right next to you, to even know what you were purchasing...unless you held it up in the air as you walked into your car, and posed holding it next to your license place.

Even then, a CA (for example) license plate does not even mean you are from that state!!

You guys need to put down 1984.

Even if all of this illegal surveillance was done, they would still need reasonable suspicion to pull you over, and probably cause to search your car. Just stating that they "happened to see you leave a gun show" would be neither of these without a warrant.

Let me assure you this state has many many law enforcement issues that are WAY WAY more urgent than some magazines and ammo coming across the border. We have cartels trafficking drugs and HUMANS. We have gangs and gang violence. The list is LONG.

I agree with the intent of your statement, but the reality is just not reasonable.

There is a lot to be said about California gun laws. Almost all are ipso facto laws making honest citizens into felons. They can be fought successfully if we give money to the groups who fight them. Don't think for a moment that you can sneak over to Nevada and buy magazines or tracer ammo and make it home. They have agents who go to the gun shows and then stop the people when they cross the state line. Instant felon, instantly can't have guns.
The best plan is to attend a California gun show and buy your ammunition there. It is plentiful and cheap. If the military 30-06 is wanted, someone will sell it. The new law stops internet sale but allows unchecked face to face sale, this is stupid on its face and this law will be litigated just like the rest. Give money and don't vote for the people who want to disarm us. This isn't politics, it is a cultural war of millennial dweebs vs people who enjoy things the dweebs don't like.

On a side note, an FFL 03 and COE does NOT guarantee ammo shipments. Midway USA, for example, has enacted their own "policies" only to ship to FFL01 holders.

To Aboothman and others...very sad that Midway would take that stance. I tried to work with them on this but they would not hear it. It frustrates me when companies do this and when individuals, for example, on GB state "no sales to CA" even when it is a C&R rifle, etc.

That said, SGAmmo will sell to COE and FFL03 CA holders....

Around 10 years ago ATF was following people home from gunshows in VA, and "interviewing" them when they got to their home about any purchases they made. It had quite a chilling affect on gun shows in this part of the country.

I have tried as well. Numrich at least reviewed their policies on shipping magazines to Bad Element in Utah for blocking when the buyer has a ban state mailing address.

Midway has lost a LOT of business due their their unreasonable policies, but as you mentioned, there are other vendors more than happy to take their business!!

I would not let a corrupt socialist government tell me what is "right". I let my conscience and the bible do that.
