Default Limits Reset - .45 Magazines Available

The CMP eStore has reset the limits, and the surplus caliber .45 1911 magazines are still available (https://estore.thecmp.org/Catalog/Item/PS45MAGA).

I have bought a number of these and have had no problems with any of them in my Kimber 1911 or my USGI 1911/1911A1,

Given that the CMP will be selling USGI 1911/1911A1 pistols, I got some more.

"Life is Good!"

PS - in the URL, does PS45MAGA stand for Post-Surplus 45's Make America Great Again?

Come on, Moderators, it's a joke!

This is the same vendor and most likely the same magazine that Colt ships with their new 1911s. I'm assuming these will sell out soon.

Got my 10.

No guarantee of the vendor. I have received a few different manufacturers and vintages. The ones I have tried work though the fit/finish isn't like a Wilson Combat, etc.
Good deal for what they are. No clue how many of these CMP has but they have been available for several years.

These have been available for a while and no telling how many CMP has left!! As most everything CMP sells is given to them from “the Army”. I wonder what other .45 related items may turn up?

The majority of the USGI magazines from this period of time were Checkmate magazines. Some Kasco magazines were also sourced but they are relatively rare compared to the Checkmate magazines based on my experience. Colt does supply some 7 rd. Checkmate magazines with there current production pistols but some are also made by Okay - and there may be other suppliers, as well. The biggest difference is that the USGI magazine have GI feed lips. The current production magazines supplied with Colt pistols have hybrid feed lips. GI feed lips are OK if you only plan on shooting ball ammo. The hybrid feed lips make the magazines more compatible with other ammo types.
