Catch 2 is a Winchester mag catch. Who did the checkering is the question?

Yes, it's EI (Eaton Pond for Inland). As I mentioned earlier, it came on a sporterized but otherwise original Inland I bought. Here is a picture from when I bought it. Checkered mag catch partially visible in the lower middle.

I've noticed in this forum that if it can be quoted from a Carbine Club printout or War Baby!, then there are people who will post information. But if it's not listed in a publication there's approximately one person who may be able to help out.

Seems like there were at least two opinions that didn't come out of a book. But, what do we know.

1. The first one is most likely a Winchester.
2. The second one probably had the checkering done post war or post production.
3. Inland mag catch.

I use references to the Carbine Club Newsletters to avoid lengthy responses. J
