Default For sale: German/Prussian artillery high ranking officer's saber

German Artillery Officer's saber, 1908-1916. Solingen blade, undoubtedly authentic. This is maker-marked, but obscured by the guard, and I can discern enough to know it's Solingen. I've become terribly clumsy lately, and am unwilling and unadventurous about tearing it apart to find the logo. I have a propensity to damage things I work on, and it's gotten worse recently.

$375.00 + $45.00 shipping.

Note the "2" on the scabbard, which I still haven't figured out.

I thought there was one small area of scratching about 1" that I could not reflection control adequately to get a solid image. It proved to be an old deposit of what was probably paint.

These were private purchase items, and the ones with finely etchedblades were premium and far more expensive. It's an artillery theme, too.

Best way to contact me is via e-mail, but I do check PM's on here fairly regularly.

If you haven't activated the e-mail capability, I have subscribed to this posting. Trouble is, that's not been working very well.

Best way to view these shots is to sign in on Flickr.com with any Yahoo i.d. and password. One can then enlarge/magnify as required, orient, view captions, favorite, leave notes, search, browse, and do all the things this photo sharing service was set up to do. SDASM, Ct. Public Library's Colt Collection, and lots of other major institutions have huge collections here for viewing and sharing.

I have way over 8300 images in my collection alone, albeit some viewings are restricted to friends and/or family. A few can be viewed ONLY if signed in. No, there's no spam, viruses, or voodoo goblins. Most of my associates have used the service for ten years or more. Nor is there any charge, albeit I have a "pro" account for which I pay.

Of course, signed in, there's a rather crisp ALBUM.

By the way, the "scratching" was smears of extraneous paint. Wiped off.
