I'm not looking for 1,000 rounds of ammo, and don't have anyone to split it with. Pricing for less that 1,000 rounds are no bargain from this seller.

Had some of this back in the glory days of 762 Surplus in the early 2000s. Assuming your ammo is the same. L2A2 commonwealth load. Was extremely clean, reliable and relatively accurate ammunition (for fmj ball). Was loaded with a very spherical ball powder resembling H380. Berdan primed.

Lots of muzzle flash from my shorter barreled CETME, and slightly dirty burning but not bad overall. Ran some through my wife's bolt gun and accuracy was impressive with reduced muzzle flash.

Default Malaysian Surplus .308 Ammo

Anyone here know anything about the quality and performance of this ammo in the M1A rifle. Corrosive? Boxer primed? I have a lot of 500 dated 2-86. Thanks!

Non corrosive, berdan primed, shoots well.

Shoots acceptable in my AR10.
Not loaded the hottest, not the most accurate of the surplus I have been trying lately, but good enough.

Ditto what others have said. Clean and shoots well for me in both my m1a, and FAL.

bought some back when it was about .35 a rd ...decent stuff and worth the cost as long as you don't need empty BOXER primed cases "as these are berdan"

The Malaysian 7.62mm L2A2 ball ammo I have is Lot #10 dated 3-86 it is non-corrosive, berdan primed, 146 grain bi-metal projectile and loaded with an average of 44.3 grains of ball powder. Chronograph check showed ten rounds averaged 2722 FPS through my LRB M14SA. Not match quality, but the ammo will hold the nine ring on a SR-1 target easy enough.
