So why would you go by pictures in a Amercian Rifleman article and expect to get that ?
Makes absolutely no sense

He should never have accepted the transfer from his ffl if the gun was so horrible as to cause this much strife in his life. Life must be grand...

So in other words...the pistol served, was rebuilt and then stored in anticipation of being reissued to our military and being used to defeat enemies of the USA....but is not pretty enough to collect....

I will second what Tbone stated.... If you donít want your CMP pistol I would be an interested buyer. I have no number and may not get a number in this 8000 round 1911 drawing and we donít know for SURE if the CMP will get the additional pistols.. If you donít want it send me a PM....

If an FFL accepts a pistol and enters the data in his books, does that mean that by all known standards everything about that pistol should meet ATF standards? I ask because it was posted that some police officers had looked at the photos of said 1911and said they were questionable. Of course, I am of the opinion that a hands on exam is always better than a photo.

It's a funny thing , when you offer to purchase people seem to back off and stop complaining

Being a "police officer" does not equate to a firearms expert.
Leave dealing with federal firearms regulations to the CMP and the FFL.

I am completely happy with mine and "Do Not" in any way feel as Kraaaken does. Too bad his displeasure has blead over to so many posts. I want to thank CMP for the wonderful pistol you have sent me and with an ANAD 4 76 date, the month and year I joined the military. Berlin Brigade 4thBn 6thInf McNair Barracks
