Default NPM markings

I just got my first M1 carbine from CMP, RG NPM and was trying to figure out what some of the markings are. Front bayonet band has SI marking, barrel is IBM, stock has S-HB in the rear sling opening, AAAS & AAD stamped on the side of the stock by the receiver. Here are some pics.

Anyone tell me the mfg date, S/N 42466xx?

Barrel band is for an Inland. Stock is for a Standard Products, I believe. Marks on the stock are rebuild inspectors marks from Anniston Arsenal (AA) and the inspector's initials.

OOPS...thanks BQ. Got Anniston on the brain for some reason. Augusta Arsenal it is.

Default NPM Mfg Date

Your carbine was mfg. around Jan. 44. NPM's serial # block ended at 4.43 million range. They completed mfg. around April 44. The IBM barrel is probably the original, they provided NPM with a large # of barrels. The stock was made by Hillerich & Bradsby (Louisville Slugger) for Standard Products. Welcome to the Carbine fraternity.
