Everybody likes pictures (OK, I like pictures), so here are a few of the Field Grade I picked up on Wednesday:





These parts made me happy:





The barrel is original to the receiver, and it measures a true "2" on the muzzle gauge, so it has plenty of life left.

The gas cylinder is cut, and is darn tight - could be original, too?



The only stamp on the stock is the number "142" behind the receiver and on the bottom of the grip.



The stock looks just like another USGI birch stock I have, but Frank thought it was probably Greek. I like how it looks!

I asked Frank why so many of these rifles made it through rebuild with uncut oprods. His answer made me wonder why I hadn't figured it out sooner: "That's how they went to Greece, and that's how they came back."

Any trip to the Store is a good trip, but I'm glad I could bring this one home.
