Default Shame...but still cool history

Figured this is a recent sale so if anyone wants to get on that, the price is possibly right even if it's drilled and tapped.

bolt is just a bubba ground bolt, not a sniper bolt.

Randy, I assume you suspect the barrel has been set back because the rear sight sleeve pin slot is on the left? This is something I've wondered about as I've seen sleeves with a slot on that side, but not common. I have also seen a few barrels like that and have one, a SA-11-28 with one. Did they in fact ONLY put the slot on the right or did they go both ways as it were?

Just curious

Kurt

Your right Kurt. The rear sight fixed base was sometimes pinned in the 10-11 o'clock position. Not all that common, but surely not rare.

Likely a Lefty on the assembly line!

some replacement barrels HS 44 and SA 42 barrels have the lignment key at 11:00,
some late Remington 1903 barrels have them at 11:00 as well.
and some sight bases have them at both 11 and 1.

Mike, Chuck, thanks, that's what I was looking for. Darn lefties, at least us righties get it right whichever side it goes on.
