Very cool - my request showed it had been in Japan, which was okay with me, we had a number of MP's there, so I can hope it was one of theirs. Then it shows it coming to USA storage pretty much. Yours is cool since it was in the NG etc.

yes sir, they must have had a bottleneck of FOIA's. 3 letters in one day. 2 for the 1911's and 1 that I posted in Garand thread for our CMP M1

Very nice, this more detailed information than I have seen in other FOIA requests, I am still waiting on mine. If only they could tell you where these workhorses were the first 30 years of their lives.

that was interesting to have been part of the guard, the FOIA for my Garand showed it was at an embassy during the 1980's. crazy

Got mine a couple of days ago. Submitted July 20th, response was Feb 22nd. Nothing found at all on my old Colt. Does not really surprise me as what I see being found is mostly locations since the computerized accounting system started. Mine exited the system long ago.

Got my FOIA for my Colt yesterday in 1989 it was turned in by the USMC aircraft group 12 Unit 37150 Iwakuni Japan stored for 10 years, rebuilt I assume due to internal movemts and then the serial number inspections started from 2000 till 2017 and then the pistol shipped to the CMP 2/2/2018 see link for foia

Added link for foia. No I am not at the address on the foia ( work paid apartment) and the Gun lives at home in another state.

Default FOIA Request

When I applied for information on my M1911 the response I received was I needed to provide more information on my weapon. I though I had, but maybe if you guys who have had success in getting back letters could help us by posting what you actually asked for, would in turn could help us as well. I would like to try again for my weapon and my wife's.

Thanks
