Hey, we have a winner!
Rich, 797540 was shipped on 7/24/42 to the Naval Supply Depot at Sewalls Point Virginia. You have a 1942 Navy Colt... would love to see it. By the way, 797640 went to the Pentagon. |

I appreciate the info I will post a few pictures soon, its an all matching SN with 95 % of its original finish. What was interesting when I purchased back in 2003 it came with all its original gear as issued I believe. All 1942 dated web belt,Sears holster and 2 belt mag pouches and 4 magazines (2 original Colt) still loaded with 1941 and 1942 dated ammo. Thanks Rich

Spectacular. Thanks for sharing, Rich. It has the same light park as my 807,000-range gun that shipped a month later. Unfortunately mine's not a Navy. :-(
But the '42s and early '43s are my favorites. Shipped 11/19/12 to San Antonia Arsenal. Nice one. |

Some time between 7/5/18 and 7/18/18 in one of three shipments. Could have gone to Bush Terminal in Brooklyn (most likely with 5,000 guns), the Navy yards in Brooklyn (possible with 900 guns), or the Marine Quartermaster in Philly (least likely with 100 guns).
