513T takedown screw removal

The takedown screw on Remington 513T rifles is a wide shallow straight slot. Is a driver or tool available to fit this takedown screw? Using a smaller straight slot driver gets the job done but just isn't the right way to do it. Thanks

May be a coin slot. Can't remember. See if a penny or dime fits.

penny or dime much too thin for slot - best to use a screw driver that fits width of slot + then radius the sides so that it fits snug in both width + depth - srewdriver also provides much better leverage for tightening or removing then any coin will -

For those screw types, I use a good fitting coin . . .some are foreign . . .grasped in the jaws of locking pliers (vise-grips).
I can get most any required amount of leverage on the screw.

The straight slot is too shallow for a coin to work. I would have to grind a flat spot on it.

I recently bought a set of interchangeable Screw Driver heads with handle made specifically for gunsmithing applications, which I have found very useful. It is made by Wheeler Engineering and cost in the neighborhood of $25.

I have been looking at the pictures of the Wheeler sets. I don't see a bit that looks like what I am looking for. I will have to go shopping one of these days. I have a small set of gunsmithing drivers. Wheeler has a couple of big sets. I thought one of them might have a specific driver for this take down screw.

i have been collecting , repairing , + researching the Remington 5teen series for over six decades + have never found a commercial source for the tool -

schutzen-jager, I believe you. I tried a house key with a flat. Pretty close in thickness but it just twists out of the slot. I found a thread on another forum where improving accuracy was being discussed. You had a link to a source for a takedown screw with a socket head for a 513T. I was able to purchase one of those. I thought I would give it a try too.
