I have family that has a carbine she wants to dispose of for a variety of reasons and I'm the only family in the local area that is "allowed" to own firearms.
I was able to handle the gun...Universal/Florida, low 5 digit serial number, (15XXX) receiver tang is marked RIA, and has a bayonet lug. I understand the first 100K of Universal's guns were the most correct with interchangeable GI parts and they got worse from the 100K mark. Gun is in good to excellent condition, wood and metal look good, has a sling but I don't know if the sling is "correct" or not. Can anyone help with a little value? Family member insists on a "gunsmith" appraising it and pretty sure that there won't be a intra-family discount. I need a ball park to possibly counter her asking price. Thanks. I have a pic of the receiver and bolt but I'm not posting them on the open forum, would share via PM, possibly. Last edited by VinnAY; 01-20-2021 at 10:17 AM. |

$500-$750?
I have seen them go for more, and earlier versions folks like, but not as much as a GI import IMHO

$500 is about what I'd be willing to spend on it.

Decent USGI examples are easily $800 and up. Which drives the price for commercial up as well. But $5-600 is probably still the price point for that carbine.
