Thank you. It's working now.
Awesome 1911....looks to be in great shape. Not much of an "idiot mark." Congrats! |

I use call blocking for all the stupid spammers. What phone number is the CMP calling from on the off chance I actually get picked. I've already set up the numbers they list online. Thanks.

I don't remember the exact number that they called from. I remember asking them twice who it was and what the call was about before I remember sending in a 1911 packet.
The area code of the number will be 256. After searching on the web...it may be this number. 256-770-4744 Just keep an eye out for 256 area code numbers. Good luck. |

That's the number I was called from. Enter it in your contacts so you recognize it.

I finally got some time to field strip my 1911A1 and take additional pictures. Upon removing the firing pin stop, there is no serial number on the slide. The back of the firing pin stop plate does not have any "ghost image" of any serial numbers.
On the frame, there was "G" that was stamped on the right rail. There's another mark next to the "G" on the lower right, but I'm not sure what the mark could be. On the barrel, there are a few marks. On the right side of the barrel by the link, there is a "M." On the left side of the link, there is a "TZ 06P" mark. Lastly, on the top of the barrel hood, ".45 Auto / 7791193 / 86" mark. Here is a link for pictures: https://www.flickr.com/gp/192028598@N05/g8X63z Any additional information that can be shared is greatly appreciated. |
